Obituary for Geraldine M Rochon

Geraldine M Rochon
Geraldine Marie Rochon
September 25, 1920 – December 19, 2017

Geraldine (Gerry) was born in Bonners Ferry Idaho, to Gerald & Mary Brooks. The family moved from Idaho to the Lake Stevens area where she graduated from Lake Stevens HS in 1938. She met the love of her life, Hector, when she was 19. They corresponded for a time after Heck joined the Coast Guard and he proposed to her while home on leave. They married in November 1942 and lived in Marysville for several years before moving to Seattle. From there, they decided to try something different, ending up on Vashon Island where they built two houses. They stayed there until their mid-70’s when they relocated to Whidbey Island. They had a 7-acre farm with sheep, chickens and a cow or two. They both had a passion for gardening and loved to work in the huge vegetable and fruit garden they planted.

Heck and Gerry were blessed with 13 beautiful children: Sandra Rochon, Linda Stuart (Michael), David Rochon (Debbie), Rene Rochon, Marie Gaylord (Richard), Desmond Rochon (Leah, deceased), Annette Rochon, Frances Madden (Fred), Joseph Rochon (deceased), Elizabeth Levesque (Ray), Victoria Wakefield (Rusty), Andrew Rochon (Karen) and Margaret Moreno (deceased.) They have 28 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
Geraldine was preceded in death by her husband Hector, daughter Margaret and son Joseph.
A private interment will be held at Holyrood Cemetery. Family and friends are encouraged to share memories and condolences at www.whidbeymemorial.com
