Fran Spees 07/ 31/1940 – 02/04/ 2019
Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away at 8:21 PM on Monday February 4th after of a long courageous battle with COPD and a myriad of other health issues .
Fran is survived by her loving husband of 45 years Tom Spees, her children Laurie Nickens, Stephanie Mincy, Jim Mincy (Stacia), grandchildren David, Jonathan, Tommy, and Piper, Brother Fred Laws (Marge).
Her husband Tom and Daughter Laurie were at her side as she peacefully slipped away.
Tom and Fran met at Amtrak in 1974 and were part of the Amtrak family for the next 35 years with Tom joining her happy retirement in 2009. She was well loved and will be greatly missed by many retired members of that family and many of those still actively working for Amtrak.
There will be a celebration of Fran’s life February 16th from Noon to 4:00pm. At the club house of Little Mountain Estates 2610 E. Section St. Mount Vernon, Washington. Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to the American Lung Association.
The family asks that anyone wishing to share photos and stories of their time with Fran to bring them to the celebration.
