Gretchen Elaine Odle, age 53, passed on December 26th, 2018, in Clinton, WA.
Gretchen Elaine Odle is survived by her daughter, Chantell Elaine Boyle, of Clinton, WA; her daughter, Sydney Jeane Boyle, of Clinton, WA, her brothers Greg Odle, Tristian Odle and Erik Odle as well as her three grandchildren Xavier Jenson Broyles, Ezekiel Roland Broyles and Penelope Laine Walther. She is preceded in death by her parents James and Sandra Odle of Clinton, WA.
Gretchen was born on January 18, 1965 in Seattle, WA, and adopted by parents James Odle and Sandra Odle. She graduated from South Whidbey High School in 1983. Upon returning to raise her family on Whidbey Island she worked at many establishments: Ace Leather Goods, Whidbey Island Bank and owning Clinton Video.
As a child Gretchen enjoyed riding horses, swimming and boating. Her father owned a cabin cruiser and they would frequent trips to the San Juan Islands and Stewart Island for fishing and crabbing. As an adult she took on hobbies of sewing and gardening as well as attending sports events for her children. Gretchen loved every holiday and each one was a fun venture; she would enjoy decorating her house and spreading holiday joy.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2:30 PM on Sunday January 6th, at Bayview Hall, 5642 Bayview Road, Langley, WA. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Gretchen’s life. The family would like to thank Stephanie and Troy Cook for helping organize this event. Donations can be sent to the online GoFundMe page, Gretchen Odle Memorial Fund.
