The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Hobart Hildyard can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Hobart's Trek

Hobart’s Trek

They say the “road less traveled”
has perks along the way
For Hobart’s favorite Ft. Ebey trail
is lonely without him today.
He loved his time on Whidbey Island
that capped a long career
He loved his time in Kansas,
he has friends both far and near.

I loved this man, a mentor and friend,
I’ll miss him oh so much
He propped me up, counseled and listened,
his advice was so very clutch.
He loved his family – Brent, Wendy and Wes
and extended family as well
He was devoted to Virginia and grateful for Nancy,
the stories he would tell.

So thanks for memories, happy hours and talks,
I will miss those good good days
And thanks for the wisdom and love for music,
for your gentle and soothing ways.
Farewell Hobart, pastor, and superintendent
and very, very good man
You have traveled the road and walked the path
for each of us God has a plan.

Your time on this earth has come to an end
may your reunion be so beautifully sweet.
Keep watch over us and continue to smile
your presence here has been such a treat.
“God be with you ‘til we meet again”
is how the worship service will end
Your bigger than life presence will be with us always
on that we can forever depend.

My tribute to HHH
