Obituary for Willie Morris Robinson Jr.

WILLIE MORRIS ROBINSON, JR.
Willie Morris Robinson, Jr., age 67, of Waldorf, Maryland, died July 23, 2017, at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC.
Willie was a retired technical representative for thirty-five years with Northrup Grumman, serving both in the states of Washington and Maryland. He was a resident of Oak Harbor from 1972 to 1995, and had been a member of Bible Baptist Church. More recently, he was also a member of Liberty Rock Baptist Church in Maryland. He earned two bachelor degrees, was ordained as a pastor and worked as a pastor and teacher. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving for eight and one-half years, and a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
He was the son of Willie Morris Robinson, Sr., and Katherine Elizabeth (Jones) Robinson, and was born on November 21, 1949 in Caruth, MO. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his brothers, Freddie Robinson and Julius Robinson and his sister Edith Robinson.
He is survived by his wife of forty-five years, Deborah Ann (Stanford) Robinson; his sons, Timothy J. Robinson (Tanya) of Vancouver, WA; Stacey Smoot (Joan) of Indian Head, MD; Christopher Spicer (Denise) of Waldorf, MD and Marcus Pearson (Erica) of Woodbridge, VA; his daughters, Janelle M. Bates (Phil) of Lebanon, OR; Carmen L. Robinson of Reston, VA; Grace Padilla of Oak Harbor, WA ; his brothers, Earnest Robinson (Ozie) of Sierra Vista, AZ; Eddie Robinson (JoAnn) of City Hampton, GA; Danny Robinson (Lurlean) of Powder Springs, GA; Tommy Robinson (DaRonda) of Poplar Bluff, MO; Andrew Robinson of Sierra Vista, AZ; and Filbert Robinson of Wisconsin; sister Gloria Box (Ray) of Vancouver, WA. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and special friends, Ward and Peggy Zimmerman, and Marshal and Nancy Mitchell; also, numerous nieces and nephews.
Initial services were held in Indian Head, Maryland. A Funeral Service will be held at the Bible Baptist Church, 1701, Harns Road, Oak Harbor, Pastor Robert Sargent officiating. Interment will follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery, with Military Honors under the auspices of NAS Whidbey island Honor Guard.
