The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Joseph Fackler can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolence From: Benjamin Mann
Condolence: Robin,

Joe was my roommate for two years at Dover AFB, Delaware in 1966 and 1967 until I was sent to Vietnam. We had wonderful times during our free time when not flying as c-141A load masters with the 9th MAS. I wondered if our paths would ever cross again.

We lost contact for many decades until he found me and sent me a cryptic letter with things only he and I would know. I knew immediately that it was Joe and was very happy to get back in touch with him.

Robin, although we never have met I knew he loved you very much and I was very glad he found his mate in you.

Please accept my deepest condolences. I will forever cherish the brief time I spent with Joe and remember him fondly. he was a great guy to have known.

Sincerely,

Benjamin Mann

Condolence: Our deepest sympathies
Joe & I met in 1968, while stationed in Spain for the US Air Force. I am proud to call him my friend for nearly 50 years. He introduced me to my wife, was a confidant, a supporter, someone we could rely on, at all times. Even when our paths parted our bond of friendship did not. Distance could not partition our friendship. I saw the love he had for Robin, enduring and endearing. He was a good person, caring, generous, thoughtful, eloquent in his response. We are all the better for knowing him, and the poorer at his parting. Our thoughts are with Robin, know we love you and will be with you if and when you may need us.

Condolence: I was sorry to hear of Joe's passing. Joe was the heart of the "Gem State Grotto" caving group in the 70's and early 80's in Idaho. We took many a caving trip with him and other members of the grotto. Joe was the leader, the teacher, and best friend on those underground ventures. Someday I will see you in Valhalla, Joe!

Condolence: My wife, Jill Lawrence, worked with Joe at the US Bureau of Reclamation in Boise, ID. She has many fond memories of working with Joe. I met Joe in 1983 when he was an instructor for the American Red Cross teaching First Aid classes. He was a great teacher. I shared his passion for photography. His studio, Northlight Photography, displayed his creative genius..
Goodbye Joe, Jill and I will keep you in our memories.
