Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of James Buss can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolence From: Tammy Alejandre
Condolence: Growing up, we didn't have a ton of money, but Dad made every car ride feel like an adventure. "I know a short cut," he'd say. My brother and I would groan, knowing it was going to be a long, convoluted path, but we'd find parks or small community museums to visit, or just stop in at a mini-mart and pick a candy (he always got a Big Hunk or a Bit o' Honey), and usually had fun. I'm so blessed my kids had so much fun time with their Grandpa, taking car rides to see bald eagles and such. We took all sorts of short cuts on our trip to the Grand Canyon two spring breaks ago. My only regret was we postponed a spring break trip to California this year. Sure wish I could go back a few months and get a do over. On Thursday evening, we thought he'd taken his final breath around five, but even the nurse was taken aback, as he still had a little life in him. As the nurse left the room I realized Dad was taking one more short cut. I like to think he was soaring on eagle's wings for those final two hours. We just talked about that as we watched the eagles over his house on Easter. Happy memories, but dang this is hard.
