We want to cordially invite the community to attend Touchstones for Transition, being held Friday, October 24, 2008, from 1-5 p.m., at Hayes Hall on Skagit Valley College Whidbey Island Campus. This seminar is concise and designed to assist those who are facing issues ranging from placing a parent in a health care facility to dealing with that task of working through the grief process.
The afternoon will begin with keynote speaker Dr. Paul Johnson, Medical Director of Skagit Hospice Services, speaking on the topic, "How and Why to Create Support." This will be followed by Ms. Jennifer Kaufman sharing on the Bereavement Cycle. Opportunity will be provided for questions and answers.
The latter half of the afternoon will give attendees the opportunity to engage in dialogue with professionals over a variety of end-of-life matters, such as financial planning, legal service, senior health care and funeral and memorial planning.
Admission is $10.00. If you wish to attend, please call Whidbey Memorial at (360)675-5777 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
This is made possible with the collaboration of the following sponsors and/or vendors: Home Attendant Crae, Home Health & Hospice of Whidbey General Hospital, Home Place Special Care Center of Oak Harbor, Island Home Nursing, Oak Harbor Church of Christ, Purple Cross, Regency on Whidbey, Skagit Hospice Service, Edward Jones, Jo's Healing Hands, Penn Cove Financial, LLC, and St. Augustine's Catholic Church, as well as Whidbey Memorial.
